“Results in under 12 hours, and correct”

My results were available less than 12 hours after they received my sample, and we confirmed a baby boy at our 20-week anatomy scan.

“This test saved my gender reveal party!”

I set up a collection space with no men in the room. Came back female, and it’s been confirmed with ultrasound.

Seriously, it was so easy and painless, I was shocked. I really wanted the Tap collection in my arm rather than the finger prick option.

How can a blood test tell if it’s a boy or a girl?

Your own blood carries no Y chromosome. If the lab finds one, it came from your baby, and it’s a boy. That’s the whole test: over 99% accurate in a clinical study of 633 pregnancies, run in a licensed Canadian lab, with every dollar back if we’re wrong.

The tiny difference between XX and XY

Your baby’s sex comes down to two chromosomes. XX means a girl; XY means a boy, the Y coming from dad. From a small blood sample we look specifically for that Y chromosome.

Why does this matter at 7 weeks?

From around 4 to 5 weeks, tiny amounts of your baby’s DNA cross into your bloodstream. By 7 weeks there is enough for us to detect the sex with over 99% accuracy, long before an anatomy scan.

The study behind the accuracy claim

Researchers studied 633 expectant mothers between 7 and 28 weeks and compared the results with the babies’ sex after birth: 99% overall (627 of 633), 100% for baby girls, 98.6% for baby boys.

Frequently asked questions

Why 7 weeks instead of 6?

Your baby’s DNA increases over time. At 5 to 6 weeks there usually isn’t enough in your blood to reliably detect the sex. At 7 weeks there’s enough for over 99% accuracy.

Is the test safe?

Yes. It’s a non-invasive screen using a small blood sample from the needle-free Tap device, so it poses no risk to you or your baby.

How accurate is it?

Over 99% in a clinical study of 633 pregnancies (100% of girls, 98.6% of boys). Two things can throw a result: collecting before 7 weeks, and male DNA getting into the sample. That’s why the kit has a five-step checklist. If we’re wrong, every dollar back.

What do I get besides the result?

Every test includes free access to the EarlyReveal app: track your sample, follow your pregnancy week by week, plan your reveal, and book vetted experts. English and French.

Recent miscarriage?

Fetal DNA clears from your bloodstream quickly after a loss, usually within a couple of days, so it won’t affect results for this pregnancy.

Not yet 7 weeks?

Your kit is good for one year. Order today and take the test the moment you’re eligible.

Can I send the result to someone else?

Yes. In the app you can hand the reveal to someone you trust so they can surprise you, or plan the moment together.

Your baby is ready to say hello. Are you?

A small blood sample at home. Tested in our Laval lab within one business day. Over 99% accurate*, and every dollar back if we’re wrong. The only question left is Standard or VIP.
